At the beginning of 2020, I worked with Vermont-based audio engineer Walter Westinghouse to create a logo & brand identity for WALT Laboratories, which provides studio maintenance & custom audio equipment services throughout the New England area.
Walt wanted something that would look as good on the web as it would laser-etched into the custom panels & audio equipment he creates. He also wanted something simple & iconic that almost had the feel of a shipping or heavy industry company. I wound up creating a stylized W glyph loosely inspired by the waveforms of old cathode-ray oscilloscopes set in a diamond badge. The glyph itself can also be used as a stand-alone icon, which I used for an alternate lockup design he could use on merch like shirts & stickers.
